Vardis began trading in 1996 as Vardis GB Ltd. The company was run by just two directors doing promotional work for a number of effective crime prevention publications designed to increase awareness of the issue within the business community. From this small start, Vardis’ core business developed and, from the late 90s, the company produced a number of highly successful business-to-business publications.
As the business expanded, the directors had differing ideas of how best to grow and develop. These differences led to an amicable dissolution of the partnership. The guiding force of the new Vardis, a member of The Institute of Fundraising, was now able to develop his own ideas for corporate and fundraising opportunities through the newly formed Vardis.
Rebirth brought with it the start of an association with The Foresters’ Fund for Children – a new direction for both Vardis and the Charity. In addition to distributing a professional range of corporate-interest magazines, the experience in publishing and the use of a dedicated team of sales reps combined to raise awareness for a small UK charity that urgently required publicity and funding to continue it’s good work. As a direct consequence of this collaboration, over the past 6 years, the Foresters’ Fund for Children has seen a significant increase in its turnover. The funds raised via the partnership have played an instrumental part in the Charity’s ability to provide financial support, assistance, medical equipment and advice for well over half a million needy children.
