Many university freshers are given a whole array of magazines, pamphlets and information suggesting how to find the way around their new surroundings. Vardis had the idea that, rather than dozens of different pieces of paper, they might prefer to receive all the information about where to go, what to do, the best student bars and promotions, advice on how to deal with exam stress and other relevant issues - all in the form of an attractive, colourful, well-written A4 guide.

Unique provided all this and more and was responsible for many students finding their feet.
